Crystal Tipps and Alistair was a British cartoon produced for the BBC featuring a girl (Crystal Tipps) and her dog (Alistair) as well as their friends Birdie and Butterfly. this surreal cartoon featured Crystal Tipps and her dog Alistair on a variety of adventures. No vocals were used at all - it was entirely a musical score.

Crystal Tipps​

She loves wearing mini-dresses. She doesn't like it when Alistair is sad, and even learnt to fly a plane to give him a lift and cheer him up. She is a very active person and likes to keep fit by running and using a skipping rope. Once she got in trouble at the local Art Gallery, when she swatted a fly. The fly was on the security guards face at the time, so you can tell he wasn't too pleased. She has even planted a magic bean and grew huge plants! But she is sad when it rains, as she cannot go out to play.​

Alistair

As mentioned, Alistair is a very talented dog, but he does love to sit down and relax and have afternoon tea, with sticky buns and cups of tea. He can even read, but he does look silly walking around with his tongue hanging out of his mouth. Like most dogs, he likes to chase cats, until they stand up to him, then he runs off. He also likes chasing the Postman. The poor guy has to try lots of different tactics to get past him and deliver the letters. Eventually they became friends when he brought Alistair a Postman's Hat. Alistair thought it was great and he even went out on the delivery round with him. Alistair likes to daydream. He dreams of flying like a bird, but when he tries to really fly, he keeps crashing to the floor. Crystal Tipps tries to help by giving him lots of balloons with helium in them. He does manage to take off, but the balloons burst and again he comes crashing back to Earth. So he does what he's good at...sulks. Soon this is all forgotten when Crystal Tipps turns up in a 2 seater bi-plane and takes him for a flight. Poor Alistair isn't very good at fishing either. Instead of catching fishes, he catches hats, Wellington Boots, glasses and even a bike. What a strange sight it is seeing a dog wearing all of these riding a bike! He rode it very well, but the trouble is he didn't know how to stop! Crystal Tipps even values his opinion on the outfits she wants to wear.​

Bird and Butterfly​​​​​

They are Crystal Tipps's other pets and are multi coloured and very beautiful. They love playing together and are very good at helping out. Both of them helped wallpaper the walls of the cottage. Its a shame the paper slid off the walls! So instead they made patterns on the wall with paint. Once, Crystal Tipps and Alistair were stuck at the top of a huge plant she grew. So they pulled a nearby rainbow across to it, so they could slide down from the plant (what a weird world they live in)
