Simon Fisher-becker is an actor who has appeared on television since the 1990's staring in TV shows such as Doctor Who, One Foot in the Grave and Doctors
John - Hello Simon thank you for talking to us today.
John - When you were growing up what were the TV shows that got you hooked watching them?
Simon - Doctor Who, Naturally. Star Trek, Space 1999, Thunderbirds. Nature programmes with David Attenborough and Jacque Cousteau
John - When did you first realise that you wanted to work in the world of television?
Simon - Not until my mid 20s
John - Were you always a fan of scifi?
Simon - Yes, my Grandfather was an engineer and always believed everything was possible. It sort of rubbed off on me.
John - Who is your favourite Doctor and why?
Simon - Troughton - I was about 5 when Hartnell changed to Troughton and my imagination went wild. I loved the story lines and Troughton's excentricity.
John - What was your reaction when you got the part in Doctor who?
Simon - Sheer delight and fear at the same time.
John - What were your thoughts when you first read the script on Doctor who?
Simon - Oh my God am I really going to be in this....!!
John - What did you think about the other members of the cast when you first heard who you will be working with?
Simon - Again a mixture of utter pleasure and excitement and absolute fear
John - Do you remember your first day filming how did it go?
Simon - I was very nervous but was working with the fantastic Alex Kingston. But the whole team were delightful.
John - What is your favourite episode and why?
Simon - There are so many.... forget the ones with Dorium - in series six The Girl Who Waited. Wonderful performances, hugely imaginative and touching story, well written.
John - Which other Doctor Who character would you choose if you were not Dorium Maldovar?
Simon - The Master
John - What projects are you working on and where do we expect to see you next?
Simon - My show, 'My Dalek Has A Puncture' is Touring the UK from 4 April - check my websitewww.fisherbecker.info . Also start filming 'PUPPY LOVE' a new comedy for BBC4 in May - due for broadcast in the Autumn
