Date : 26th Febuary 2013

Emma Forbes is a television presenter who has appeared on television since the early 90's, staring in TV shows such as Going Live!  Antiques Roadshow  Talking Telephone Numbers  Live & Kicking and many more!

John - Hi Emma first of all thank you for talking to us today.

John - When you were growing up what were the TV shows that got you hooked watching them?

Emma - The TV shows I loved when I was growing up was everything from Donny & Marie show (oh yes) to Swap Shop, to the Generation Game and Morecambe and Wise!!

John - When did you first realise that you wanted to work in the world of television?

Emma - I first realised I wanted to work on TV when I went onto TV AM with  my mother and I just loved the whole 'live' TV thing!

John - Do you remember your 1st day working on a TV show, what was the show and how did ur 1st day go?

Emma - I so remember my first day working on TV for a small satellite channel – I was terrified!!!!!! It went OK but I think I kept looking in the wrong camera….

John - Who influenced you in your career?

Emma  - Who influenced my career?? So many people really – I also am a huge fan of American TV so I have more people there that I admire..

John - Over the years who has been the most famous person you have worked with or met?

Emma Forbes - The most famous person I have met – is a hard one as Saturday morning TV I met loads of people  from Sting to Cher – but I loved meeting Richard Gere….

John - Has anything funny ever happened or gone wrong while filming live that you remember and how did you react and carry on?

Emma - With live TV every weekend something funny would happen and you would have to carry on – I almost set fire to gordon the gopher making pancakes with Phillip Schofield and I had to pat out the flames on his fur while the cameras weren't there….

John - What do you make of the changes in kids TV shows from past to present do you think they still have the same spark as in previous years?

Emma - I think children's TV has changed so much – as in now you can watch just cartoons etc – and I think I feel very lucky to have worked in an era where live and kicking was 3 hours every Saturday of pure live TV and entertainment – I think that is missing…I loved the humour, innuendo, and just the variety and the huge stars/bands that you had on – there isn't that any more…

John - What projects are you currently working on and where can ur fans see you next?

Emma - Next plans…aiming to do more TV though you will never see me skate, dance or eat bugs…I want to 'present' and so am hoping that this year see's more of me doing that…few projects up my sleeve, website growing all the time and in particular the element of #SalutingStyle – a new fashion venture – so watch this space!!

John - Thank you for your time Emma and for answering our questions
